Trust Me
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3: 5-6
Last weekend our Nation celebrated Memorial Day. In Sunday’s sermon, the pastor shared a message about remembering. He asked the congregation to remember what Christ has done for them. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us when He laid down His life and made a way for us to live eternally with Him.
Throughout the Bible people were encouraged to remember what God had done for them and Sunday’s sermon provided an opportunity for people to share what God has done and is doing for them. I started thinking of the many ways that God has been faithful in my life.
Two years ago when the Covid pandemic began all travel was instantly shut down. People around the world were in lock down and faced incredible uncertainty for the future. In the Travel Industry strick regulations were in place and every day brought news of more cancellations and fear of travel. The owner of the company I was working for decided that it was time to close the business for good.
It was at that time that God told me to open my own Travel Agency.
Isn’t that just like God to ask us to do what seems impossible. Just like the story of Elijah when God sent him to a region that was in famine – to a widow whose pantry was empty – so she could feed him. Of course, that makes no sense, but God always has a point to make to us.
Our natural response is often from our limited view that can only see the scene in front of us, but God sees the full picture and simply asks us to be willing to obey whatever He asks of us. He wants us to step out in faith and trust Him and when we do we will always see Him follow through on His word.
Today my business has been opened for 2 years and I’m blown away by the provision that God has provided. He gave me time in the quiet season to get set up and spend extra time with Him. This year as the world has started to open up again, He has provided so much business that at times I wonder if I can keep up.
Only God would have known that starting a Travel Agency during a global pandemic would turn out to be such a blessing. He makes the impossible, possible! Thank you Lord!
