Restore My Soul – I Am Your Hiding Place

Have you ever had a day that you just wanted to run away and hide from it all? A day that you could just step out of your current circumstances and have space to not think about them.

I have days like that a few times a year. They are special days that I call my Brock days. His anniversary date that He went to be with Jesus and his birthday.

Those days are often reminders that the world goes on. It doesn’t slow down for anything. On those days I want to intentionally remember the good things and yet the hurried pace of the world tries to crowd them out.

God’s message to me today: I Am your hiding place.

The Passion Translation of Psalm 32:7 reads, “Lord, you are my secret hiding place, protecting me from these troubles, surrounding me with songs of gladness! Your joyous shouts of rescue release my breakthrough.”
Pause in his presence

So that is what I did, paused in His presence and I found that He meets you exactly where you are. He knows and He is available. We can run to Him and hide from the troubles of this world because He is mighty to save. In that hiding place with God, He quiets us with His love and He rejoices over us with singing.

In that hiding place He restores us and renews the hope within us. His loving arms wrap around us and give us peace.

My Prayer

Father, thank you for being my hiding place. It is a place of hope, peace, love and understanding. Thank you for rescuing me and restoring me. You are who I want to run to. In Your presence I am made new. In Jesus’ name, amen.
