Live Boldly

Restore My Soul – A Bubbling Brooke

You know how God sees us as He created us to be, not as we currently are? That was the perfect scene this morning.

I was tired from a restless night of trying to sleep when the dogs woke up at promptly 5:30 am and wanted to go out. Tracy was sound asleep and so I got up with a very grouchy attitude.

Roscoe was full of energy and eager to get outside and sniff around the campground. As he pulled and pulled to keep going further my patience did not cooperate and with an angry attitude I penned him back up as soon as he finished eating.

While at the sink I looked out the window at the woodpile and saw that a beautiful flower had bloomed overnight. What a gift! I realized it was an invitation from God to spend some quite time with Him by the river in the early morning.

As I started to pray I realized that I was again apologizing to God for having a grouchy attitude. I don’t want to be that way, yet I find myself in a grouchy mood more than I would like to admit. Then I received my message from God.

God’s message to me: I’m creating something new in you; a bubbling spring of Joy that spills over into other’s lives.

At first that statement made me laugh because at that moment, that was the complete opposite of how I was acting and feeling. But…I knew if God said it, then it is possible. I’m going to be a bubbling spring of joy.

There is always something good in everything if I choose to look for it. The early morning wake-up call turned out to be a beautiful invitation from God to see how He sees me. Just the thought that God sees me as a bubbling spring of joy makes me want to be that way.

After spending some precious alone time with God my heart and attitude completely changed and when my husband woke up I could say with a sincere heart, “Good morning Babe.”

My Prayer

Father, thank you for such a beautiful invitation to spend time with You and for speaking the truth of how You see me into my heart. I want to become the women of God You see and created me to be. Thank you for Your grace and Your promises. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Where does my help come from?

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
