Call me blessed
From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is his name. – Luke 1:48-49
Has God done great things for you? The answer for anyone and everyone is a definite “Yes!” He lovingly gave us His One and Only Son so that we could live and have life in Him. That is the greatest gift ever.
But God doesn’t stop there. For those who choose to accept the gift of grace offered to them, He also gives His Holy Spirit to dwell within them. In this way He is always with us, guiding, teaching, encouraging, and loving us. How much more blessed could we be!
In today’s passage, Mary was proclaiming her acceptance of the gifts that God had given to her and was giving praise to God for them. Declaring that you are blessed is not being prideful unless you are taking credit for the blessings.
When we recognize God’s hand in our lives and give Him the credit, that He alone deserves, we are acknowledging how blessed we truly are. We should be shouting it from the rooftops! We are blessed to be created by a loving Father. We are blessed that He desires a relationship with us. We are blessed that He is living within our hearts. We are blessed that we get to experience His presence here on earth and forever in eternity.
Call me blessed because that is what I am.
