A Woman After God’s Own Heart

Have you ever thought of being a different person? Perhaps desiring to be like someone else or becoming the ideal woman according to what the magazines and social media portray that image to be.

When you really think about it, deep down in your heart, what type of woman do you want to be? As a believer we can choose to be a woman after God’s own heart.

What does it mean to be a woman after God’s own heart?

  1. A woman after God’s heart is grounded in God’s word.
  2. She trusts Him fully and continuously asks to draw closer to Him.
  3. She remembers who He is and reflects on the past times He has saved her. Seeing His hand at work in her life over the years is something she has trained her heart to do.
  4. She personalizes God’s promises.
  5. She makes time to worship and praise Him. God is a priority in Her life.
  6. She has a teachable spirit.
  7. Her hope is anchored in Christ and she waits with expectation for His leading and His return.

Doesn’t this description sound so much better than what the world has to offer! A woman after God’s own heart is in a relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

In that relationship He has the ability to use ordinary lives in extraordinary ways. In that relationship we begin to understand our tremendous value and worth. In that relationship we are rescued, redeemed and restored.

That sounds like the type of woman that I want to be. How about you?

Be Intentional about becoming a Woman after God’s own heart.

Praises & Prayers

Lord, thank you for using the ordinary for something extraordinary. What a gift to have a relationship with You. I pray that I will desire to know You more and grown in that relationship. Thank you for Your love, mercy and grace. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Messages from His Word

1 Samuel 16:7

“Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
