You Go Girl!
When others are happy, you should be happy with them. And when others are sad, you should be sad too. – Romans 12:15
I have a sweet little friend who has decided to have her own Royal Make Over. She has several physical handicaps that prevent her from many forms of activity, but she is determined to make the necessary changes in her life to improve her health and relationship with Christ.
We talk with each other every week and at the beginning of her Royal Make Over she said that she was able to go outside and walk to the end of the driveway. A few weeks later she walked around the block. On our last call she said she had went to the gym and walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes! I am so proud of her!
She is a beautiful example of how you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. (Philippians 4:13)
There have been other friends and aquaintances over the years who have had their own battles with health and fitness and when they have experienced success, which has been noticed by others, it has sadly been met with the mindset of, “I wonder how long this will last.” It’s as if they are watching and waiting for them to fail.
The Godly Character of Kindness is displayed in our lives when we are, as today’s verse mentions, happy for others. Your words of encourgement and belief in someone have a huge impact on their emotional being. Some day when they are spiritually stronger and can see the unkind words for what they truly are, (the enemy’s schemes) and they will be better able to brush off the offense and speak God’s truth over their situation. Yes, they are more than a conqueror!
We have the choice of whether or not our words are going to speak truth and encourgement into their lives and we have the privilege of being happy for them and shouting a loud, “You Go Girl!”
