You Are A Godly Woman of Authority
What does a Godly woman of authority look like? The dictionary tells us that authority means the power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience. The bible gives us a much more meaningful interpretation.
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.” – Proverbs 31:25-29
When you think of Deborah you can see how this verse perfectly describes her. The amount of strength, wisdom and dignity that must have been needed to be a judge in Israel, wife and prophetess, was given to her by God.
He supplied everything she needed for each and every task that was assigned to her; even the task of leading the army that others should have fulfilled, but chose not too.
Her story is given to us to encourage us. Just like Deborah, God is going to supply everything that we will ever need to fulfill the purposes that He created us for.
Our authority comes from the God who created authority and has all authority. What an encouragement!
Walking in the authority that God gives us has the opposite effect that worldly authority offers. It’s humbling because we know that in and of ourselves we are nothing without God. It enables us to speak truth with confidence and surety and it gives us the desire to live fully for Him.
Be Intentional about walking in the Godly Authority that you have been given.
Praises & Prayers
Dear Lord, Thank you for giving us the authority in You to do everything that You have gifted, called and created us for. Help us to remember that it’s all You and to use this gift with a humble and grateful heart to serve others. In Jesus’ name, amen.
