You always fit in with Jesus
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1
Several years ago I was on vacation with my husband and a large group of people. Throughout the week we reconnected with old friends and got to know new friends. This group was a rowdy group and spent most of the trip in the swimming pool drinking. I had my share of drinks, but didn’t want to spend my entire trip in the pool so I often found other activities to participate in.
One day a lady in the group said she didn’t understand how I fit in with the group. I took that as a compliment because I didn’t want to fit in with the group and the non stop binge drinking. I know I was different and I was okay with that.
Fitting in is not just a teenage challenge, adulting can often have the same peer pressure to conform and become like everyone else. People often avoid standing out from the crown just to prevent awkward comments like the one I received. Thankfully with Jesus, you will always fit in.
My devotional today said, “Jesus makes a special place for you with Him where you always fit in. Where you’re loved, supported, valued, and appreciated for who you are. A place where you’re never alone. Where you can find meaning and higher purpose for your life. Where you can use your gifts and talents to the max for the best. Take your place with Jesus. Walk with Him every day and you’ll never feel like an outsider again.”
I love that Jesus calls me by name and calls me His own.
