Yes You did Lord
I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow. – Jeremiah 31:13
The past few weeks have been filled with extreme family issues that have caused tears, fears and sadness. At times I felt overwhelmed at the load of responsibility that fell on my shoulders and wondered if it would even be possible to accomplish what needed to be done.
My prayer request was for the Lord to help me lean in to Him and hold on tight, while trusting that He would give me the strength and wisdom that would be required.
Many times the plans I made did not turn out the way I expected or had anticipated. Over and over I was in awe of how God worked out the details, every time better than I could have imagined. He constantly provided direction which at times was different than what I would have done, but in the end, made perfect sense. Time off from work that I had planned to use for one situation ended up being used for a situation that I had no idea would take place, but God knew it was coming and His counsel was perfect.
As I neared the end of the week my energy was spent and I continued to pray for His help to finish well. In His beautiful and unique way, God came through again and again. What started out as a soul wrenching week ending in songs of praise for His faithfulness and presence.
The journal entries in the beginning of the week that listed the challenges and trials turned into checkmarks of answered prayers and a list three times as long of unanticipated blessings that took place throughout the week.
When I read today’s passage I said with confidence, “Yes You did Lord!” While basking in His comfort, peace, and joy. Thank you, Lord,
