Without God
They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might. 2 Thessalonians 1:9
I am currently working through a bible study about the signs of the end times. It’s fascinating and amidst all that is going on in the world today, it is giving me peace. Peace because I know the One who is truly in control. Peace because I know the One who has provided revelation and warnings. Peace because I trust Him.
One thing that is very clear in the study of end times is that there is a heaven and a hell. We try to imagine what it will be like based on people’s interpretations and truthfully we miss the big picture. In the study hell was described as “a condition in which life is lived away from God and all the restraints of God’s holiness.”
When you think about some of the characteristics of God like; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, try to imagine a world where they do not exist. Now add to that all the chaos that the enemy is constantly creating and amplify it because God’s presence will not be there to constrain it. What a horrible, horrible place to be……separated from God.
I remember when I didn’t know Him. I was living from one mistake to the next, never knowing what grace was or how real peace and love felt. It always seemed like I was missing the mark and my life would always have drama. But now as a believer I have experienced His Grace, His Love and His peace and never want to be the same again. I cannot imagine my life without God. I need Him every moment of every day.
Studying the end times has given me an urgency to reach the lost. Jesus Christ is returning and the time is short for a decision to be made. I definitely do not want my loved ones, my friends, my neighbors or anyone else to experience eternity without God.
If you would like to make a decision for God it’s as simple as praying this prayer with a sincere heart and desire to have a personal relationship with Christ.
Dear Lord Jesus:
I know that I am a sinner and I believe that you died to pay the penalty for my sins. Thank you for taking my punishment. Please come into my heart and help me to live for you. Amen
If you just made that decision for Christ and committed your life to Him, please let me know in the comments so I can continue to pray for you and assist you in any way possible in your new life with Christ.
