Live Boldly

With Purpose and Intention

As I continued on with my 2020 goal setting I noticed that 20/20 also means perfect vision. Thoughts of how nice it would be to know what lies ahead crossed my mind and how much easier it would be to set goals with that knowledge. I may not know what lies ahead, but I know the one who does.

A very popular bible verse reminds us that God has a purpose for us and His intentions are good. Jeremiah 29:11 reads, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

God is leading by example with purpose and intention. He has a plan for us and intends to see it through. The next part of the verse is about our response to Him. “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”” -Jeremiah 29:12-14

To know Him more and His plans for us we need to live with purpose and intention and in doing so He has promised several things:

  1. He will listen to us.
  2. We will find Him.
  3. He will bring us back from captivity.
  4. He will give us a hope and a future.

Isn’t that amazing! It’s a beautiful reminder that God wants a personal relationship with us and He invites us to walk with Him into a future that has hope and promise. And as we walk with Him we can trust in His perfect vision for our futures and know that no matter what the New Year brings, He is right there with us.

My Prayer

Father, thank you for creating such a wonderful plan and purpose for my life. As much as I would like to know what lies ahead in the future, I am so blessed to know that You hold the future in Your hands. Help me to live with purpose and intention as I begin the new year and I pray that my greatest adventure this year will be knowing You more. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Where does my help come from?

Psalm 25:5

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
