Live Boldly

Willing and Available

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

And I said, “Here I am. Send me!” – Isaiah 6:8

Mary’s response to the call of God on her life was one that God waits to hear from every believer, and it comes from a heart that is willing and available to go and do whatever God has planned and purposed. The call on your life might be frightening and filled with unknowns. You may question whether you are capable or if it’s even possible, but with God all things are possible. If God calls you, He has already equipped you.

Mary was in the middle of planning her wedding to Joseph when she received her call from God. She didn’t let that hinder her decision to be fully available to God and willing to do whatever He required. She didn’t need to worry about the details because God had already taken care of each and every one.

As Joseph struggled with a decision of whether or not to set Mary aside, God sent an angel to encourage Him and place a call on his life as well. Joseph’s role would be as a guardian of God’s son and of Mary. His response was also one of a willing heart ready to do whatever God asked of him. His willingness to follow God’s leading empowered him to be Jesus’ chosen earthly father.

How willing and available are you to the call of God in your life? Can you step out in confidence knowing that if God called you to it, He will bring you through it?

Being obedient to the guidance we have from God leads to more guidance from Him. When the Lord calls, will your response be, “Here I am. Send me!”

Praises & Prayers

Father, I pray that when You call, my response will always be that I’m willing and available. I trust You Lord and know that with You, all things are possible. Help me to step out in faith and go where You want me to go; and do what You want me to do. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Messages from His Word

Matthew 19:26

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
