When I Consider

When I consider your heavens,
    the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
    which you have set in place,
 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
    human beings that you care for them?

 You have made them a little lower than the angels
    and crowned them with glory and honor. Psalm 8:3-5

One of my favorite things to do when I’m camping is to look up at the stars. In the mountains, the sky seems to be so much bigger. No city lights to block out the millions of stars that God has sprinkled across the heavens. The other scene, that I make sure to wake up for, is the full moon shining on the steadily moving river. It is the most beautiful sight and a gift from God every time I see it.

It’s in those quiet moments with God, as I reflect on His magnificent creation, that I feel the most pure and calming peace. I’m in awe that He spoke this all into existance. Think about that for a moment. He spoke….. and it happened.

Thank you God for creating such an amazing world for us to live in. With how beautiful this one is, I cannot even fathom how eternity will be since Your Word tells us, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has conceived— the things God has prepared for those who love him.”
