What Next?
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20
What a joy it was to celebrate Easter with a church filled with believers and to know that His resurrection was being celeberated worldwide. Praise God!
As I read the events of Resurrection Sunday from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John it brought such excitement about the power of God and how each and every detail happened just as Jesus said it would. I could picture the relief and joy that His followers must have felt hearing His voice and seeing Him again. The whole scene must have filled them with awe.
At the end of each book Jesus gave the same message, “Go! Tell the world about Me and make disciples.” In true Godly fashion, Jesus not only gave clear direction, but He also provided all that would be needed, His presence through the Holy Spirit.
That great commission is also our commission. We are here at this time, in this place for His purpose. That purpose is to use whatever giftings He has given us, and we all have been gifted, to share Jesus with the world. We are called to walk the talk. On Sunday we sang songs of Praise to our Risen Lord and now on Monday, we need to walk out those confessions and beliefs.
