Watchful – Connecting Friends

Who doesn’t like a good deal, a sale or a special event. We don’t know everything so it’s nice to have watchful friends who will share the good news when it’s found.

The disciple Andrew was this type of friend. He was a follower of John the Baptist and was watching and waiting for John’s words about the coming Messiah to be fulfulled.

When John pointed him to Jesus saying, ” Behold, the Lamb of God,” Andrew immediately left and followed Jesus.

The first thing Andrew did after meeting Jesus was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah!” And he brought him to Jesus. That day Simon heard the best news ever! News that would change his life forever.

Think about the friend(s) that led you to Christ. They were watching and waiting for the right opportunities to tell you about Jesus and then when the moment was right, they brought you to meet and connect with Him.

Thank you Ellen!! That was my friend who watched for opportunities and connected me with Jesus and I am forever grateful to her for her faithfulness and friendship. My life has been forever changed.

The world and the church need more Andrews, watchful and connecting friends. Those who will work, often anonymously, to introduce others to the gospel and be watchful of opportunities to connect people to Jesus.

Be Intentional about being watchful and connecting others to Jesus.

Praises & Prayers

Father, thank you for Ellen and others just like her that are watchful and desire to connect others to You. Help us to do likewise. Thank you for changing my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Messages from His Word

John 1:41-42

The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which, when translated, is Peter)
