Was that you God?
Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. Jeremiah 33:3
Have you ever felt God’s leading in your life only to question later whether it was Him or your own ideas? This usually happens when the calling becomes more difficult than expected or the newness has worn off and you aren’t sure you want to complete the task.
Recently I was blessed with a couple of months to rest and hear from God. During that time I felt His leading to begin a large project that would test every ability that I have. It was exciting to think that God would ask me to do this and I began organizing the details to begin.
Shortly after the project began I encountered issues with my blog hosting company and decided to make a change. This change would require updating the site and as I later found out, finding a new theme and making more adjustments than I had expected. Not being a computer-savvy person, I began to panic. As I looked at the calendar and saw that key dates on my project timeline were approaching the panic only increased. I was so far from ready that I began to wonder if it was just my plan and not God’s.
Then I went for a walk with God and expressed my feelings and concerns and asked Him if it was just me or if He was truly the one who was orchestrating the actual timeline. I didn’t receive an answer on the walk but I clearly heard the message at church on Sunday.
The sermon was about living boldly for God, not sitting in the safety of the sidelines. Step out in what God has called you to do and do it well. After church, I had a quiet afternoon and decided it was time to start working on the website updates. To my amazement, it all worked out much better than I could have imagined. I remembered the details, I experimented with new functions and the results blessed my heart.
It was a definite answer to my question. Yes, the Lord was the one who called me to this task and He is the one who will walk me through to the finish line, on time. My part is to listen for He leading and be obedient with each step of the process.
Oh Lord, please forgive my fear and doubts. I trust you and I look forward to hearing from you and working with you. Thank you for this opportunity. I pray that you will be glorified with the process and the outcome. In Jesus’ name, amen.
