Walking Your Path

In our lives we will encounter many different types of paths. Some will be filled with anticipation of the destination, joy and excitement. Others will lead us to places of grief, disappointment and sorrow. How we navigate those paths and who we invite to join us along the way will have a tremendous impact on the whole experience and outcome.

The bible tells a story of two men who were walking a path of loss and discouragement. Their pain was evident and they felt hopeless. But their story and path didn’t end there. Along the way they were joined by another traveler who listened as they described the cause of their pain and responded by sharing the truth of their situation.

As he spoke and explained scripture to them, their minds were opened up to understand and their hearts burned within them. They invited him to stay with them and break bread together. When they broke bread their eyes were opened and they recognized that the fellow traveler was none other than Jesus himself, the Risen Lord! Immediately they returned to Jerusalem to share the Good News with others.

Every day we have the privilege of inviting Jesus to join us on our paths of life. He is always willing to listen to us and will respond with the truth of His Word. He provides us with our Daily Bread which means that everything we need can be found in Him.

The paths we walk will supply opportunities for His Holy Spirit to work in us to produce the Fruit of the Spirit that will make us make us more like Jesus and be a witness to others of His presence in our lives.
