Used For Good

I was feeling pretty good about myself and excited for the adventure ahead to overcome wrong thoughts with a clean and right heart when the enemy decided to show me that he was not as pleased with my decision.

From out of nowhere came some very powerful wrong thoughts and just as quickly my mind was racing with so many that I felt like I was caught in a whirlwind. I was trying to battle one thought by speaking truth to it and I would be hit with another one.

It was quite frightening how battered and bombarded I felt. No matter how hard I tried to fight back I felt completely overwhelmed. Then I said the three words that brought reinforcements, “Lord help me.” Instantly the battle stopped.

Later as I was trying to sleep my mind kept thinking about how overwhelmed and blindsided the attack felt and I began to feel condemnation for not fighting harder.

The next morning started with a wrong attitude and short temper with poor Roscoe. It continued when I lacked the patience to get a drill bit to work properly.

In less than 24 hours the enemy was quick to show me some of the many areas (strongholds) that I will be facing in the hopes of discouraging me.

  1. frustration & arrogance
  2. anger & judgmental thoughts
  3. grouchy attitude when things don’t go my way
  4. patience
  5. condemnation
  6. comparing

But God………used these attacks for good. He allowed me to see the areas that I can change with His Divine Power. You can’t fight a battle if you don’t know your enemy.

My Prayer

Father, thank you for using what the enemy meant for harm to be used for good. I have a lot of work to do, but I thank you for reminding me that You have a plan and purpose and Your plan is for good. I Love You Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Where does my help come from?

Genesis 50:20

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
