True Beauty
Esther’s story began with the mention of her outward beauty. But through the events of her life you can see that God had refined her inner beauty to far outshine any treatment that the world offered. It was what was underneath the surface that fulfilled her destiny – the hidden person inside.
It wasn’t the years worth of beauty treatments that helped Esther, but rather her inner character that willingly submitted to God’s will for her life.
She dealt with many difficult circumstances that through hind sight, aided in her refining for the moment that she would boldly risk her life for others. Developing Godly character through trials and hardships had prepared her for what she needed to do, when she needed to do it.
Each relationship created opportunities for growth. She gleaned from both the good and bad character of those who crossed her path. Esther was teachable and willing to obey those that offered wise counsel while also being able to resist speaking out at her enemies until the appropriate place and time.
Proverbs 31: 30 tells us that charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Esther showed her belief and reverence for God when she asked others to fast with her and then fully submitted to His will saying, “If I perish, I perish.” Totally surrendering to God. Her story is written in history for our benefit. She was a Woman of Influence who used her true beauty to fulfill her God given destiny.
You and I are in our own seasons of refining to become the Women of Influence that God intents for us to be. Submit to His processes. Be willing to learn and obey. Cherish relationships and learn from them. Trust that God sees what really matters – the inner beauty that you truly are.
Be Intentional about seeking true inner beauty.
