The Gift and Power of Friendship
From the beginning of time God did not intend for us to be alone. He gave Adam a companion in Eve and He walked with talked with them in the cool of the day.
We were created for relationship with God. Think about that for just a moment and take in the magnitude of that statement. The creator of the Universe wants a relationship with you. He has surrounded you with all types of friends for your own good. What a thoughtful and loving God we serve.
Just knowing that you are not alone has tremendous power to overcome so many of life’s obstacles. Recognizing the gift of friendship that is given to us by God provides us with the confidence, love and reassurance that we need.
By His beautiful design, we are included in His plan of relationship with others. We get to remind people not only by our words, but our actions, that they are not alone. We get to offer the gift of friendship that was freely and graciously given to us. We get to be like Jesus.
Friendships have the power to make an eternal difference in someone’s life. I believe that in eternity people will be surprised when they learn how their lives, their kindness, their compassion, their patience and their friendship forever changed the life of another.
God has blessed us with friendship opportunities in our homes, places of employment, churches and unlikely places all with purpose. Following His leading will never end in disappointment.
Be intentional about making the most of the friendships that God has given to you.
Praises & Prayers
Father, thank you for the gift and power of friendships. I pray that we will honor You in all our relationships and that we will make the most of each and every opportunity to offer friendship to others. Thank you for such a beautiful gift. In Jesus’ name, amen.
