Teach me Lord
I will instruct _____________ and teach her in the way she should go. I will counsel _____________ and watch over her. – Psalm 32: 8
My husband recently started working with a new contractor. This man is not from our area and there are many new things that he needs to learn about building in Idaho. One the nicest compliments that my husband has made about him is that he is teachable.
That is a great quality in a Daughter of The King. As today’s verse mentions, God is willing to teach, instruct and counsel those who are willing to listen and learn. I especially like the part where He watches over her. What a beautiful picture that is of our loving Father watching over us as we go about what He has called us to do.
The next verse mentions those who don’t want to submit to God’s teachings and compares them with a horse or mule which have no understanding and are controlled by a bit or bridle. I’ve had my own moments of stubbornness that have resisted God’s leading and they never ended well.
Which would you prefer? Being taught and watched over or being bridled into submission?
Life is going to happen and I would much rather obey and follow God’s leading under His watchful eye than learn from the school of hard knocks because I chose to be unteachable.
