Technology….it’s great when it works properly or the way I would like it to.  But when it doesn’t or when my limited knowledge of it doesn’t produce the right results, it can be very frustrating.  This process of learning how to blog has been quite an adventure.  My husband told me there’s a Youtube video for just about everything and I think he’s right.

When I first started one of the options was to try creating the blog myself with the programs I had researched or I could pay someone to do it for me.  The process was intimidating so the second option looked most appealing.  But that’s not what God had called me to do.  He wanted me to do it myself and trust in Him through the process.  He was going to provide all that I would need and this was going to be a learning adventure with Him.

As with anything it takes practice and dedication.  Many late nights along the way I would be so frustrated and felt completely unqualified to be doing this.  Each time I would pray, “Lord please help me to understand this, help me to be faithful and obedient and not give up,” and He would answer.  I would either push the right button or find the correct tutorial.  His leading was always at the perfect moment and I was so excited when the site was finally published.  It worked!

The site had been up for about one week and all was going well.  Then nothing.  The page could not be accessed and I could not fix it.  I searched for help and a Youtube tutorial showed me four possible solutions.  The problem was that the solutions were mostly coded entries and that was a foreign language to me.  I tried to follow directions as best I could and the error message changed to a different error.  I called the help desk and they were closed for the day.

I continued to review the tutorial and tried working out the problem, praying the whole time and trying not to give up while holding back tears thinking the site was lost.  Then a different help number came up on my screen and said, “Support 24/7.”  That was like a life preserver being thrown to me.  Thank you God!

I called the number and an angel named Robert answered.  He asked the name of the site and when I told him My God My Everything, he said, “it will be a privilege to help a sister, I’m a minister.”  Only God could do that!  As he worked on the site he spoke encouraging words to me.  He said that things happen for reason and our phone call was no coincidence.  He patiently walked me through fixing the error and as he did he read through some of the titles in the blog.

He told me that God will give me peace that surpasses understanding and that this blog would help many people.  I was blown away by God’s provision of encouragement and confirmation that I was doing His will.  He had sent one of His messengers to help me in such an incredible way that I did cry.   Tears of awe, stunned by His love for me that He would orchestrate all of this.  I would have missed this incredible adventure if I had opted to have someone set up the site for me.

The computer problem was a God Adventure in disguise.  It was perfectly timed and orchestrated by God to show me His love, encourage me and instruct me in some things that I needed to learn about blogging and Him.  Important things like backing up your site and knowing where my help comes from.

God is available 24/7 and I think He delights in showing up in ways that we least expect.  Our relationship with Him is personal just like our faith in Him.   We can’t pay someone else to do it for us.  If we did, we would miss out on life’s greatest adventure,  Life with Christ.

My prayer

Micah 7:7 – But as for me, I will look to the Lord

 I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me

Father, I am in awe of You!  You touch my heart with your amazing love and I am speechless.  Words can’t fully express how it feels to know that You are for me.  You are always as close as a prayer and You already have the answer when I call.  I am blessed to be yours!  Amen

Where does my help come from?

Psalm 121

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
 My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.

 He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;
 indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.

 The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
 the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.

 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;
 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.
