Stained Glass Windows
In the past you were full of darkness, but now you are full of light in the Lord. So live like children who belong to the light. – Ephesians 5:8
I have always enjoyed looking at stained glass windows in cathedrals and old churches. The details that are displayed are remarkable. Many windows in cathedrals depict bible stories such as the nativity, crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. They display the stories in the most amazing colors both inside and outside of the buildings. Many people are drawn to these iconic structures to take in the beautiful images produced by the light that passes through them.
This week I came across a statement that said, “Without faith, one is like a stained glass window in the dark.” That wouldn’t be very impressive nor would it draw people in to see the incredible possibilities made by the light. When I saw this picture it summed up the thought that we are to live a life that reflects the light of God within.”
What a contrast our lives before Christ were compared to our lives in Christ now. The light has come and He is creating the most amazing stories in and through our lives. Stories that will display the changes within and the difference that knowing Christ has made. We once were in darkness, living life for ourselves. But now in Christ, we have the privilege to shine brightly for Him. So live like children who belong to the Light.
