Spread the Word

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.  When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,  and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. – Luke 2:16-18

When the shepherds first heard the announcement of the Saviors birth from the angel they were terrified. That fear then turned into a desire to see Him for themselves and they went to Bethlehem. After witnessing all that the angel had told them, they couldn’t help but spread the word.

First the shepherds ran to see the baby; then they hurried to spread the word. Jesus is also your Messiah, your Savior. Like the shepherds do you look forward to meeting Him in prayer and in His word? Have you seen for yourself a Lord and Savior so wonderful that you can’t help sharing Him with others?

This world is in dire need of hope and we as believers have the ultimate hope in Jesus. We have the privilege of sharing Him with others by spreading the word about how seeking Him, meeting Him and knowing Him has changed our lives. When they hear about our Savior they can’t help but be amazed.

Be Intentional about spreading the word about your Savior.

Father, thank you for sending Your Son and for the relationships that we are blessed to have with Him. Help us to spread the word so that others may know Him too. In Jesus’ name, amen.
