Spiritual Leadership

What is spiritual leadership? One explanation I found said, “spiritual leadership is a blending of natural and spiritual qualities utilized for influencing God’s people to accomplish God’s purposes.”

“God called a man to begin a nation (Abraham), to preserve that nation (Joseph), to lead that nation out of slavery (Moses), and to lead them in conquering the land (Joshua). He used individual men and women to further his agenda. He directed judges and kings to govern and prophets to reprove his people. And finally he sent one man to die for the sins of the world.”

“Take these few leaders out of history and you have a radically different history. In God’s economy, one person can make a difference. Little wonder God says, “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap….(Ezekiel 22:30)”

“The mystery and privilege of Christian work is that God uses people like us to accomplish his work. We are his “fellow-workers,” his “ambassadors,” his
“representatives,” his “servants,” and “ministers.”

If you ever wondered what your calling is ……… there you go. You are a spiritual leader. If you think that being a spiritual leader is just for pastors, think again. Deborah was not only a prophet and judge, the bible tells us she was a wife. Her spiritual leadership roles were not only for the nation and her community, but for her home as well. Her influence in her home was crucial and needed just as much Godly wisdom and discernment as her other positions.

We are no different. God has gifted us with the privilege of being spiritual leaders in our homes. Whether you are single, married, widowed or empty nesting, you have a role to play and as mentioned above, one person can make a difference. Be that one person.

Be Intentional about your role as a spiritual leader.

Praises & Prayers

Lord, thank you for including us in Your works. Help to recognize our role as spiritual leaders and to seek Your guidance in the many different areas of influence that You have blessed us with. I pray we will seek You as we manage our homes, teach our children, model relationships and serve in our communities. Help us to lead others to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Messages from His Word

2 Corinthians 5:20

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
