Simple Solution

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

A few days ago I returned from a vacation with wide open spaces, beautiful tropic views, large windows in my room and plenty of fresh air. It was glorious! On my first morning back home I was in my cute little loft/office/guest room/prayer room. This room also has a fun nautical theme including a picture that looks like you are looking out the window at the beach.

Each morning from my usual corner of the futon I read my, “In the morning when I rise, give me Jesus,” sign, but have no actual windows to look out from that side of the loft. On this day, I needed to see outside. I was feeling claustrophobic and closed in, and was experiencing a healthy dose of spring fever.

As I began to pray I asked the Lord to help me find true contentment in my little space. To see the joy in each day and be grateful. But I was still feeling extremely closed in and asked Him what I should do. His reply was to move to the other side of the futon.

From that side, I could look across the loft and out the small window next to my office desk. What a simple solution! I was so used to always sitting on the same side of the room that I was missing the view from the other side.

The simplicity of the situation made me smile and wonder how many other things I miss in life because I choose to remian in the usual, comfortable spaces. Just moving a few feet changed my whole view and completely removed the closed in feelings I was experiencing.
