She Had Jesus
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine. (Isaiah 43:1)
Mary Magdalene experienced Jesus’s rescuing power in her life. But being freed from her demons didn’t automatically remove her difficult circumstances. No doubt she had painful memories, relationships that were strained or broken, and consequences that came from life gone awry. But also, she had Jesus.
No wonder she ended up becoming one of His devoted followers, exchanging the roof over her head for a tent, and familiarity for a whole new kind of wilderness wandering. She had found the kind of rest that only comes from communing with the Creator, and she wasn’t about to lose His presence. (The Chosen)
There are many lessons to be learned from her life and as we explore them we will meet other women who crossed her path as she traveled with Jesus and was an eye witness to the many lives that were changed by encountering Him. We will also have the opportunity to read the parables and messages that Jesus taught and place ourselves at His feet to learn and become devoted disciples as well.
From the moment that Jesus spoke her name, Mary was forever changed and she would never be the same again. Praise God! Her story is one of complete devotion from beginning to end. No wonder God chose her to be the first person to see the Risen Lord.
Mary was a woman that had been forgiven much, therefore she loved much. She was a beautiful example of a new creation in Christ and she didn’t waste the grace that had been given to her. Mary knew that she had the most precious gift in the world; Mary had Jesus.
Be Intentional about becoming a fully devoted follower of Christ

Her example of devotion is so inspiring and I pray that I will intentionally place myself at Your feet as I read Your word and let the messages penetrate and change me. Thank you for Your grace and for the knowledge that when I have You in my life, I have everything. In Jesus’ name, amen.
