Send out Your Light and Truth

O my God, shine Your light and truth to help me see clearly, To lead me to Your holy mountain, to Your home. – Psalm 43:3

When I first saw this image it made me want to throw my hands in the air in praise and worship. It was an answer to my prayer for a cover photo for the new Royal Records book. The theme of the new book is Blessed is She Who Believes.

Jesus gave His longest recorded message to His followers at the Sermon on The Mount and it contained clear direction on how to live differently in this world. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are higher than ours. His teachings were meant not only to instruct us, but to warn us, encourage us and remind us of the many promises in store for those who remain faithful.

Today’s passage encompasses that message beautifully. “O my God, shine Your light and truth to help me see clearly, To lead me to Your holy mountain, to Your home.” It is a request for God to teach us and guide us through the daily challenges of this life, as we look forward to eternity with Him.

The truth of His Word opens our eyes and hearts to clearly see not only where we are, but where we can be with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and a commitment to obey and respond to His leading.

The journey may be uphill, but with the light of God illuminating the way, it is an adventure that will be well worth any effort required. Lead me to You Lord.
