Live Boldly

Royal Privilege, Royal Expectations

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. – 1 Peter 2:9

What a privilege we have to be called and known as Daughters of The King. We have been created in the image of God and given a unique and personal destiny that will serve a much higher purpose that we can even imagine. As Daughters of The King we are His ambassadors, living representatives of God Himself here on earth.

Along with the privilege of living a redeemed life we get to live loved by God. We are His special possession, we belong to Him and He calls us by name. We are God’s chosen treasure. As such, we get to declare to the world what God has done. The changes that He has made in our lives and the freedom that we now experience living in His wonderful light.

Our Royal Privilege comes with Royal Exceptions. Before ascending to heaven after His resurrection, Jesus gave His disciples (that includes all believers) the great commission. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 20:18-20

We have the privilege and expectation from God to share the Good News with the world. One of my favorite explanations of this charge is, “One beggar telling another beggar where to find bread.” We get to sing the praises of God for saving us and giving us Godly purpose while living in this fallen world. We get the privilege of telling others where we found freedom, hope, love, joy and grace.

No doubt you heard the Good News from someone else who was fulfilling their Royal duties. Now it’s our turn to declare what He has done.

Father, thank you for the privilege of being known as Yours and I pray that I will represent You well. Help me share the Good News wherever You lead and to sing Your praises for all You’ve done. In Jesus’ name, amen.
