Live Boldly

Rewards of Faith

The story of Jochebed is a clear example of how God gives, provides, and answers more abundantly than we can even ask or imagine. That’s how God does things. He does them in a big way if we dare to trust Him.

As we journey through life all of us will have our faith tried. The bible tells us in all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. (1 Peter 1:6-7) The proving of our faith is planned by God to bring praise, honor and glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

One of the greatest stories of faith in the bible is about a man named Job. He lost all his children, his wealth and health, yet his response was, “Although I don’t know why I am called upon to face this trial, I do know the joy of fellowship with God, and though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” Throughout his trials he repeatedly expressed his confidence in God’s faithfulness and firm belief that he knew that His Redeemer lives. His faith was reward when the Lord gave him more children, healed him and restored his wealth even more than he had before. But the greatest reward he received was a deeper and more intimate relationship with the Lord.

Whatever trials we face we must remember that God is still on the the throne – that He is behind the scenes working out all things for our ultimate good. The trials we are enduring are preparing us for even greater blessings. During our trials we have the opportunity to lean into God and experience a deeper, more intimate, relationship with Him. That relationship is the greatest reward imaginable.

Praises & Prayers

Father, I want to thank you for Your faithfulness. For always being present in the trials and giving me many reasons to sing Your praises. Thank you for the beautiful relationship that we have and I pray that it will continue to grow. You are my Redeemer and I will trust You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
