Restore My Soul – Receive My Peace
I noticed that I was having moments each day that my spirit was overreacting and it felt like I was on the verge of a meltdown. Little things felt much bigger than they actually were and I was in constantly on edge. I needed peace.
God’s message to me was: Receive My peace as you stay close to Me.
It began by reading Psalm 73: 23-24
Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel.
Just reading that began to calm my spirit. What a difference it makes to feel His peace wash over me while I take moments to sit and pray or read His word. I feel the calmness of His presence quiet my racing heart and mind. I don’t want those moments to end.
He said He holds my hand and guides me. I love that mind picture of the intimacy of holding hands.
When Tracy holds my hand as we walk into a store I fell like he’s letting the world know that I am His. We walk together; not ahead or behind each other.
I also think of holding hands with my granddaughters when we walk. It’s partly for protection, because I want to keep them safe, and partly for the fun of swinging our hands and feeling connected.
The Lord holding our hand does the same.
- It identifies us as His
- Signifies a loving relationship
- Provides protection and guidance
- Is fun to being connected and in each other presence
Knowing this and staying close to Him is what brings us peace. On those days that I feel undone, I just need to take hold of the right hand of the One who has it all together.
My Prayer
Father, Thank you for such a simple yet intimate way to show Your love for us. Taking hold of our hands and reassuring us that we are Yours, we are loved and You will lead us makes being in Your presence such a beautiful thing. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Where does my help come from?
Psalm 73: 23-24
Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel.
Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
