Restore My Soul – Live In Receptive Mode

As life continues to shift gears and go in a new direction one of the many things that I need to learn is my next message from God.

God’s message for me today: Live In Receptive Mode

For quite some time I have went through my days on a precise routine almost robotic at times. I’ve lived a very predictable schedule and now that has all changed and I’m learning that each day is different. Routines are out the window and in order to adapt I need to learn to live in receptive mode.

Receptive means to be willing to consider or accept new suggestions and ideas. For a routine lover like myself that can be very challenging and often I feel completely out of control. But I think that is God’s purpose. To show me that He truly is the one in control.

At first I felt completely off my game when my daily schedule was challenged and even more so when it became none existent. Yes I have work hours that I need to be available, but working from home also means that in between phone calls I can wash a load of laundry or even vacuum the living room.

Sometimes the Lord invites me take my laptop out on the deck and enjoy an afternoon breeze while working. I’ve found that every time I have be willing to consider and accept His suggestion it has been a very rewarding experience.

He’s teaching me to live in receptive mode. Listening for His suggestions and be willing to discard my own agenda for something much better; His will. Many times I have thought to myself, “Wow! I would have missed this if I had followed my old routine and ideas” God never disappoints!

My Prayer

Father, thank you for taking the time to show me that listening to Your suggestions and stepping away from my old routines can produce such amazing moments. Thank you for loving me enough to create those moments and invite me to share them with You. Help me respond to Your leading. In Jesus’ name, amen.
