Restore My Soul – I Am Richly Present

Today was one of those days that God demonstrated His message in a very beautiful and visual way. I was sitting by the river and trying to clear my mind so that I could enter into my quiet time with God.

With my mind full of thoughts and racing, I began to wonder if my prayers would even reach heaven. I was having trouble focusing and deep down what I really wanted was God’s presence.

As I began to read my devotional the verse was in Habbakkuk 3:19 which reads, “The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.” The devotional explained that God created deer with the ability to climb steep mountains and stand on the heights with confidence.

At that exact moment I looked up and 4 deer walked out of the river bottoms and began to drink at the river.

God’s message to me today: I Am Richly Present

As I watched the deer I thought of how loving God is. He knew I was struggling to enter into my quiet time with Him and He wanted me to know that He was already there. He had already prepared that exact moment for me to be sitting, praying and watching.

His gift of the deer added to the message that my trust in Him will give me the confidence to walk and make progress in the high places of trouble, responsibility or suffering in my own life.

He reminded me that He is the Living One who sees us. He is richly present and constantly watching over our lives.

To add to that already beautiful message He then sent a bald eagle which flew about 5 feet above the river and reminded me that those who trust in the Lord will soar on wings like eagles.

My Prayer

Father, thank you for the beautiful visual reminders of Your presence in my life. Thank you for the message that we can stand with confidence and know that You will bring us through every challenge that we face. You are a loving Father who watches over us and is richly present in every moment of our lives. Thank you Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Where does my help come from?

Habakkuk 3:19

The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
    he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
    he enables me to tread on the heights

Isaiah 40:31

But those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.
