Response to Faith
The entire story of Jochebed can be seen as one Godly response to faith after another all because she dared to trust in His Word. That faith set into motion a whole chain of events that served His purpose and honored her faith.
The daughter of Pharaoh choosing to bathe in the river at that exact time and place. The baby crying just at the right moment. Her heart filling with compassion and a desire to protect this child, that by her father’s decree should die. Miriam suggesting the child’s own mother to be the one to nurse him and the princess agreeing and even paying her for her services. That’s God’s response to faith.
Many times we offer prayers to God for His help, intervention, protection and peace. But how often after we utter the word ‘Amen’ do we say, “I trust You Lord,” fully believing that the outcome is in His more than capable hands? More often than not, I find myself trying to be the savior of the situation as I continue striving to find a solution to fix the problem.
Jocebed did what she could, placing her son in a basket and leaving the rest up to God while trusting Him for the outcome. She wasn’t pacing on the riverbank monitoring each and every movement of the basket while attempting to adjust its course. She simply had faith that God would intervene and His will would be done.
What would happen in your situation if you dared to trust in His Word? If you stopped pacing the riverbank trying to keep some resemblance of control? Just imagine the peace that you would have knowing that the God of the Universe has your problems and their solution, safely in His hands.
Be Intentional about trusting in His Word.

Messages from His Word
Hebrews 12: 1-2, 6
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
