Remi’s Joy
My youngest granddaughter is usually very reserved. She is very observant and takes in the tiniest details, but she speaks only when she wants to and rarely shows much emotion. But she has always had the cutest little way of expressing joy. She quietly claps her hands near her chin as she squeezes her shoulders in and then smiles the sweetest smile and giggles softly. In those moments you know she is truly happy and excited.
Those moments are precious to me because I know that they truly express what she feels in her heart. They make me smile especially if I had any part in making those moments happen.
I can only imagine how God must feel when we express true joy. The kind that fills us completely and gives us the most incredible feeling of contentment and peace because we know the source of our joy – The Lord. This joy can be experienced in any of the circumstances that we face.
We always have a reason for joy, “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” (Habukkuk 3:17-18)
We have a Savior that loves us enough to die for us. That is more than enough reason to rejoice and be glad.
