Live Boldly

Relationships

Everything about the Christian life concerns relationships. First with God and then with each other. When asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Jesus modeled the perfect relationship with God while He was here on earth. He taught us that God operates in relational ways and invites us to have the ultimate relationship with Him.

The bible is full of stories of relationships between God and people and between people and each other. We can learn a lot about our own relationships by looking at theirs.

The story of Ruth and Naomi is one of those stories. Their relationship teaches us about true friendship and the sacrifices, perseverance and patience they often require.

It also reflects the power, joy and blessings that come from intimate friendships that we choose to be a part of.

Answering God’s call to know Him and follow Him will lead the the ultimate relationship. A relationship full of love, trust and respect for the One who has proven by His own actions that He is the truest of friends. “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Jesus gave it all to be your friend.

Be Intentional about choosing a relationship with Christ.

Praises & Prayers

Lord Jesus, I want to thank you for Your sacrifice for me. For laying down your life so that I could live again. Thank you for the many lessons on relationships and friendships found in Your word. Help us to learn from them and apply them in our own lives so that we can be Godly witnesses for You to a hurting world. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Messages from His Word

John 15:12-14

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.
