Powerful and Effective

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. – James 5:16

Recently the Lord has been laying on my heart the need to involve our daughters and granddaughters in our pursuit of Him with greater passion. Praying first that they will know God personally and develop a lifelong relationship with Christ. Then praying intently for them to be surrounded by godly friends and to be a godly friend to others. And also praying that while God is preparing a future husband for them, they will be preparing themselves to be a godly wife to him.

When I look at the direction the world is going, it could easily cause fear to rise about what the future holds for my granddaughters. But I was recently reminded that God created them just as they are for a time such as this.

It’s not by mistake that they are here now, facing an uncertain future with a fully knowing God. He created them with talents, abilities, personalities and knowlege that will all be needed to overcome all that this crazy world will throw at them. And I have the privilege of praying for them. Praying passionately, intently and faithfully that they will draw close to God and fulfill their God given purposes.

As we pray for our children and grandchildren we have God’s Word that the prayers of a righteous person are powerful and effective. We go to battle for them on our knees and we have the responsibilty as Daughters of The King to lift them up to the Lord, serve as prayer warriors and teach them how to use the armour of God.

Thank you Lord for these precious children and I pray that we will do our part in teaching them, praying for them and lifting them up to You.
