Possible
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my study of David and what made him a man after God’s own heart. There are several things that were highlighted during the study and I would like to list a few of them that really spoke to me:
- Inquire of the Lord
- Wait for the Lord’s leading
- Obedience to God’s leading and word
- Faithfulness to vows and promises
- Confession & repentance
- Gratitude
- Wholehearted devotion
- Willing spirit
- Worship without abandon
As we review the many stories and lessons that were taught through David’s life, I’m sure that we can relate to many of his circumstance. We can know the awe at the revelation that God chose us to be His before time began. We may have felt the peace at seeking God for His direction and then the joy at obeying His will.
We have had to learn patience in the waiting and pain in acknowledgement of our sins. We’ve experienced the freedom of redemption and forgiveness which created a desire to worship without abandon before the Lord. The whole relationship has instilled a determined will to be devoted to the One who makes it all possible; Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
That words sums it up the best for me; possible. It is possible to be a person after God’s own heart. It is possible to live a life fully devoted to God and seeking Him. It is possible to be restored and made new in Christ after failures. It is possible to lead others to Him through our examples and it is possible to know with complete assurance that I am His and He is mine.
My Prayer
Father, in You all things are possible. Thank you for salvation and for choosing us to be Yours. Thank you for offering us the opportunity to have a personal relationship with You and live a life fully devoted to You. Please continue to guide and direct us as You transform us to become people after Your own heart. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Matthew 19:26
“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
