Live Boldly

Perspective

I always find it so amazing when I’m able to see something from someone else’s perspective. Recently I had two situations where a different perspective changed my whole outlook.

We moved next to the railroad yard a few months ago. The noise is incredible and has caused many sleepless nights. One night my granddaughters stayed the night. They also live near a train track and my oldest granddaughter often goes to her window to watch as the trains pass by because she is facinated with them.

As she was looking out the back of the property she said “Grandma, you are so lucky to have seven train tracks by your house, we only have one and you get to see the trains everyday!” What I was seeing as an inconvienence, she was seeing as a joy.

The other situation was when a friend came to see the house and I mentioned that my husband wanted to get rid of the old kitchen cabinets and replace them with new ones. My friend said she would like to have them if we were just throwing them away. She said that they would work perfect in her home. What were were seeing as outdated and worn, she was seeing as new and beautiful.

It made me wonder how I view service to God. Am I seeing it from my limited perspective and my own feelings or am I looking at it with wonder, awe and a sense of possibilities?

God always sees and knows the whole picture. Rather than make my decisions based on my own limited view I should trust His leading and obey even when I don’t understand.

The apostle Paul saw a vision of a man of Macedonia calling for help. When he arrived he found a woman at a prayer service by the river. I imagine that wasn’t quite what he expected, but it turned out to be more incredible than he ever dreamed.

Be Intentional about seeing with Godly perspective.

Praises & Prayers

Father, thank you for sending people into my life who have a much better perspective than I do about certain things. Open my eyes to see the possibilites and to be grateful for the little things. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Isaiah 55:9

As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
