Perfect Timing

But God’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you.
He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you.
God takes the time to do everything right—everything.
Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones.

Isaiah 30:18 MSG

I feel like today’s bible study was a successful treasure hunt. When I came across this passage I re-read it a few times while slowing my mind down to really take it in. In this fast paced world it can be difficult to wait, and for me, a person who hates procrastination, it can be excruciating waiting for outcomes.

Many times I’ve acted impuslively and shortly after realized that if had just waited a little longer, things would have turned out much better. I’m so grateful that God doesn’t act the same way. He doesn’t repay me for what my sins deserve at the moment I commit them, but rather He gives me opportunities to recognize my sins, repent and turn from them.

God takes the time to do everything right. What a great lesson to learn. I can think of many ways to implement that truth into my daily life. How different would my attitude be if I took time to listen before speaking? or thinking of a response? How much more peace would I experience if I waited for God’s leading to proceed while trusting that His timing is perfect?

Thank you Lord for the many treasures that are found in Your Word. Help me to apply them and experience all that You intended by making a way for me to find them.
