Peace
The precious picture of Salvation continues as Hannah experiences the Peace of God. Her story tells us that when she left the tabernacle, after pouring her heart out to the Lord, she was no longer downcast. Her circumstances hadn’t changed but her entire outlook had changed and she was at peace.
When we leave our burdens in God’s hands, He will also give us peace – perhaps peace that our request is answered or just peace that everything will be okay. Whichever the case, it will be a peace that is beyond our understanding. God’s peace assures us that He is in control.
It is the same with salvation. When we find new life in Christ, we have a peace in our hearts that the world never knows – because we know God. His grace and peace carry us through the troubles that this world will bring and we can face them all with peace that surpasses understanding.
Knowing Jesus changes where we find our peace. In the song ‘Knowing You Jesus’, the lyrics remind us that the things we once put our hope and trust in are worthless compared to a relationship with Christ.
All I once held dear, built my life upon
All this world reveres, and wars to own
All I once thought gain I have counted loss
Spent and worthless now, compared to this Knowing You, Jesus
Knowing You
There is no greater thing
You’re my all, You’re the best
You’re my joy, my righteousness
And I love You, Lord

Praises & Prayers
Father, Your peace is often indescribable. To experience it in the midst of life’s storms is a beautiful reminder that You are God! I want to know You more. I want to live for You and to experience the power of Your Risen life. I want You to be the center of my life because I know that there is no greater thing. I love You Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Messages from His Word
Philippians 3:7-12
But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
