Path to Peace
I love the feeling that those words bring to my soul. It makes me believe that it is possible to have true contentment, calmness and peace in this crazy and hurried world we live in. But where do we find that path?
After Martha spoke her mind, Jesus offered her the path to peace. He said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 19:41-42)
In that statement Jesus reminded her – and us – what to be concerned with, where to focus, and what should take first place in our lives; our relationship with Him.
When we concentrate on Jesus first, we discover that we are never truly alone or without help. (Hebrews 13:5) We experience that His grace is sufficient for all that we face. ( 2 Corinthians 12:9). And we find inner peace and strength to face whatever comes our way. (John 14:27) Those are the kinds of truths that keep us calm even in the busiest seasons of life and serving.
Think about a stressful situtation that you faced today. Now apply what Jesus taught in the passages above.
1.Even if you are personally dealing with this situation, Jesus is right beside you and will never leave you. You are not alone in this.
2. This situation is not a surprise to God and He has already made a way for you through it. His power is made perfect in our weakness. He will provide all that is needed to see this through.
3. Don’t be troubled or afraid. He can open your mind to understand things that you may not have thought of before or He may simply instruct you to be still and watch what He can do, either way give it to God and He will give you peace.
Be Intentional about choosing the path of peace.
Praises & Prayers
Father, thank you for leading us to Your path of peace. Help us to make our relationship with You our first and most important priority. You are more than enough for whatever we may face in this life and I pray that we will choose to believe Your word, trust in Your sufficiency and rest in Your peace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
