Our Intercessor
Hebrews 7:24-25
But because Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood. Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them.

The definition of an intercessor is a person who intervenes on behalf of another, especially by prayer. As we read in the story of Abigail, at great risk to herself, she approaches David, an angry man bent on revenge, and intercedes for her husband despite his bad behavior.
It would be easy to point fingers at Nabal and form our own opinions of his actions, but we should first take a look at our own. His story is more like ours than we might think.
Abigail’s request can be seen as a picture of Christ, who offered Himself as a sacrifice to save foolish sinners from the consequences of their own actions and He continues to intercede for us. (Hebrews 7:24-25)
When the shoe is on the other foot we see the story differently. Not only did Christ take our punishment and pay for our sins and bad behavior, but He is currently at the right hand of God continuing to intercede for us.
Our enemy, the devil, accuses us day and night before the Lord and is bent on our destruction. But each and every time, Jesus stands in the gap created by our sins and intercedes for us, reminding the Lord of His promises until they are fulfilled.
Knowing about the grace that we’ve received helps to soften our hearts and give the same grace to others. When we pray on behalf of someone else we are standing in the gap before that person and God; lifting them up to the Lord with a heart of love and compassion and a desire to see God’s will in their lives.
The Spiritual gift of Intercessor is the special ability God gives to use prayer with confidence and power to intervene on behalf of someone else. Prayer transforms the person doing the praying, as much as the one being prayed for, which creates a stronger bond between you and God.
Be Intentional about being an Intercessor

Praises & Prayers
Father, thank you for sacrificing Your Son for me and making a way for redemption from my sins. I know that the enemy loves nothing more than to point out my sins to You and I’m so grateful that Christ is at Your right hand interceding for me. Help me to do the same and lift up others to You. To pray for them with Your power and intention. Make my heart more like Yours. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Revelation 12:10
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.
