Live Boldly

My Prayer

The other day a friend posted a suggestion on Facebook that caught my attention. The post simply said, “Wondering who God says you are? Go read Ephesians 1-3.”

Little did I know that God had much more waiting for me as I began to read the reminder. In addition to reading all six chapters in Ephesians (I couldn’t put it down) I read my daily devotional and it had a short prayer that really grabbed my heart and made me say, “Me too Lord.”

“Lord God, I desire to be counted as one who knows My God, one who shall be strong and do exploits, one who uses the understanding You give to instruct many. You have invested so much in me and have proven to be my rock, my fortress, my stronghold, my shield, my refuge, the one who trains my hands. Use me now I pray for Your Mighty purposes.” (Beth Moore – David)

After reading the book of Ephesians I went back and summarized the points that I felt God really wanted me to hear and He gave me this prayer:

“Lord, You are my everything! I am who You say I am! Help me to live as a faithful one. You chose me before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in Your sight. You predestined me, redeemed me and lavished wisdom and understanding on me. Help me to conform to your will. You marked me as Yours with Your Holy Spirit. I’m sealed – guaranteed! Praise God!

By grace I am saved. I am Your workmanship; created in Christ Jesus to do good works which You have prepared in advance for me to do. You are my peace. I kneel before you Lord, praying that I will be rooted and established in Your love. That I can grasp how wide, how long, how high and how deep it is and be filled with You.

Help me to trust that You will do more than I can think or imagine. Help me to show that same love to others; bearing with them, removing all bitterness, rage and anger. To be made new in the attitude of my mind and put on my new self. Removing the old thinking and attitudes.

Wake me from the darkness of my self pity, complaining and bitterness. Let me be an imitator of Christ and live a life of love just as Christ loves me and gave Himself for me.

I once was in darkness but now I’m light in the Lord. Help me find and do what pleases You Lord. Shine in me!

Help me make the most of every opportunity and submit in reverence as to Christ. Help me to be a good wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and employee. Help me to be strong in You and Your mighty power.

Open my eyes to the real enemy and stand firm with the armor You have given me. I pray that the words and thoughts I have will be God honoring and that I can live out the Gospel in my actions and deeds.

Help me to be fearless for You Lord!” Amen

Where does my help come from?
