Mucho Value

On Tuesday’s I attend a prayer meeting at church where we pray for the requests that are made during the week and at Sunday services. We also receive a list of prayer requests from a women’s prison ministry.

I am so blessed to be in attendance and witness what the Lord is doing and how He is answering prayers. In addition to that I believe that He has placed me here to be mentored by the other attendees.

Listening to the many prayers that are given with the request that His will be done and that the words said would be from His Holy Spirit is helping to shape my own prayer life.

Over the last several months we have seen the prayers of the women in prison change to match the growth that they are experiencing. In the beginning one woman was involved in witchcraft and some of the others were praying for protection from her spells.

Prayers were prayed for her salvation as well as the truth to be made know to the other women about where their security and strength really comes from.

Last week one of the leaders of the prison ministry asked me if I had any bible verses that I could share with her for the women who had been involved in witchcraft. She said that the woman had made a prayer request this week, Praise God! And she asked for bible verses to help her understand more about God and who He is. God is so good!

I had just read a verse that morning that mentioned how God had known us before the creation of the world. This woman needs to understand the God loves her. That she matters and that she has value regardless of her past.

She remained on my mind all week and I kept praying that she would come to know Christ as her Savior. One by one each of the women in the prison ministry have given their lives to Christ. She is the last one and I believe that He will reach her. The thought of the lost sheep came to mind and how the shepherd went after it so that none would be lost. That is my prayer for her.

On my way to work one day I saw a boxcar on the train that had graffiti all over it with the words, “Mucho Value.” It made me smile because I was thinking of this woman at the time and that is what she has, mucho value to God.

We all have mucho value to God. So much that Christ died for us. Regardless of our pasts or where we find ourselves in the present, His love for us exceeds anything we can comprehend and we are priceless to Him.

I pray that as you read this blog that you will know how much God loves you. He knew you and chose you before the creation of the world. Your value to Him is so great that He sent Jesus to pay the ransom for your salvation. He wants a personal relationship with you regardless of where you’ve been or what you’ve done. I pray that you will accept His tremendous gift of grace and begin or renew a relationship with Him. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Where does my help come from?

Ephesians 1: 4-6

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love  he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—  to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
