More Than Conquerors

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:37-39

Doesn’t today’s verse just make you breathe a sigh of relief? When I speak this verse aloud I can feel the power in the truth that is reveals. As a sinner, I know the pain and weight of my sin on my soul. I also know the fear of wondering if I’ve sinned too much or gone too far to receive God’s grace.

But as a believer, I know the freedom that God’s loving grace provides. I know how it feels to be forgiven and redeemed. I know what it is to be loved by God.

The enemy would like us to belief that we are unloveable, not good enough, not worthy and that we have gone too far to be saved. And if he gets us to think about these things we will begin to doubt God’s love for us. That is his key tactic, to get us to doubt God’s love and His truth.

The truth is that on my own merits, I’m not a conqueror, but by the power of God’s Holy Spirit that lives in me and loves me, I am more than a conqueror! The truth is that the enemy is a liar and the father of lies. That is why we must remind ourselves of God’s truth found in His Word and when the enemy whispers doubt, we must respond with shouts of truth! “As a child of God, I am loved, forgiven and redeemed and Nothing will separate me from the love of God!!”
