Miracle Worker
My friend’s daughter survived extreme breast cancer treatments a little over a year ago. During one of her routine follow up exams a spot was detected on her spine. After several tests it was determined that the cancer had returned and treatments would need to begin again.
Throughout this entire time she has been the most encouraging and positive person I know. She arranged charity events that would help other cancer patients and she participated in several community activities to promote good will, all while continuing to be a wife and mother to two young girls.
While praying for her one day I asked God what I should pray for, that would align with His will for her. I felt I was to ask Him to be her miracle worker. His response gave me such hope and joy that I immediately called my friend to share the message with her.
Later her daughter made a post on Facebook congratulating her grandparents on their 60th wedding anniversary. She said, “They’ve taught me so much over my 38 years….but nothing more important than to love the Lord and keep Him first.”
Those words were proof of a miracle that God had performed on her heart. Throughout this trial she has come to know the Lord very personally and always given Him the glory.
This week urgent prayer requests were made by some of her family members as her health took a turn for the worst. My heart felt broken and I wondered if I had only heard what I wanted to hear while praying and hoping for a healing miracle. Again I took it to God in prayer and asked for His will to be done.
The next morning I was ecstatic to see a post from her at the hospital stating, “Thanking everyone for their prayers. Things have been a little rough, but this is just another bump in the road. We’ll get through it. There truly is power in prayer.” Again God gets the glory!
She is a beautiful example of how to weather the storms of life with joy, confidence and gratitude. God is working many miracles in and through her life.
