May Flowers
I was thinking of the saying, “April showers bring May flowers,” this morning and how not only are there beautiful flowers beginning to bloom throughout my yard, but how on a personal level, events that took place in April will directly affect events that will happen in May.
A couple of my co-workers are facing some major trials and one mentioned yesterday, “When it rains, it pours.” My heart is heavy for both of them and May will definitely be a time of newness.
I kept thinking of her comment and thought about my own experiences in April. It was such a beautiful season of God pouring into my heart. I would like very much to be still and bask in the reminders, but I know that He poured in so I could pour out.
Yesterday I mentioned that it was time to start out on a new trail. I knew in my heart that changes were coming and by the end of the work day I had a better understanding of where that trail would be heading. Time to begin “Living in” the messages that He was teaching me.
Not only is my heart heavy for these ladies and the trials they face, but I will be required to take on much more than I think I can handle and I feel a huge pressure and responsibility to make sure all the details are handled properly.
Thankfully that heaviness brought me to my knees where I felt the first bit of peace in the entire day. I have no idea how all of this will play out and several people have offered their opinions on how I should handle the changes, but the only opinion that I need and want right now is God’s.
He knows what lies ahead and He knows the best way to address the changes while remaining supportive and available for all involved. I need His wisdom and strength to move forward. I want His leading and peace. He has been preparing me all along and now it’s time to step out in faith.
I’m going to choose to see the flowers that bloom this month as reminders of His faithfulness. He will bring beautiful things out of the trials and challenges that lie ahead. Flowers will be blooming everywhere, in gardens, backyards, along the roadside, on the mountain tops and in the valleys. They are reminders that He is with me and I am surrounded by His love.
Please pray for my co-workers as they face these trials. They need the same prayer that I received years ago; that they would come to know the Lord through this. Pray for a beautiful newness in their lives and the hope and strength that a relationship with Christ brings.
Pray that they will experience flowers from the rain.
My prayer
Father, I pray for my friends. These are major trials and they need You. I pray that they will come to know You and experience the peace and strength that You give. Help me to be available for them and encourage them. Help me to know Your will for me with the changes and that I will make the decisions that will align with Your plan. I need You Lord. I know that You’ve got this and that there is purpose in all of this. Lead me Lord. In Jesus’s name, amen.
Where does my help come from?
Psalm 62:8
“Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”
