Maria

While I was writing the other day I looked at the calendar and knew I needed some Divine Encounters to write about, so I asked God for some and that He would open my eyes to see them.

Some friends had invited us to go out to dinner with them at a new restaurant we both enjoy. During dinner the mother-in-law of the owner stopped by the table to say hello. We had met her on an earlier visit.

Then she began to share about her faith. She shared stories of her family, God’s leading in her life, opposition she encounter by her husband and siblings concerning her faith and her desire to know God. Her passion for God was beautiful and she said she could only obey what He told her to do regardless of the comments and attitudes of others. Maria also told of the many miracles God had given her and how her desire was that her granddaughers would know Him. She was searching for a church to attend that would encourage them and herself.

I could have listened to her all night. It was so beautiful to see God in action and a woman who lived with such passion. At the end of the conversation, we invited her to church and gave her the address and time. I also was blessed to share with her, my prayer request from earlier that day that God would give me a Divine Encounter and that she was the answer to that prayer. Thank you, Lord.
