Lottery Tickets
Last week I went to a local convenience store to cash in a few lottery tickets. The total winnings were $12 and I was going to purchase a bag of tortilla chips that I forgot to pick up at the grocery store earlier.
The cashier was a woman named Brandy and she was very friendly and helpful. As she was processing the tickets I wondered how many times a day she handed out money to others and that she could probably use some herself, especially with Christmas just around the corner.
While I was waiting I pulled a You Matter card from my purse and was preparing to give it too her. At that moment I knew that I needed to add some money to the card and that I was to give her $20. She was quite surprised and I thanked her for her help.
The next day my daughter-in-law sent me a message about a post she saw on Facebook. It included a picture of the money and the card with a message from Brandy. She said that once she had a moment to read the card it made her cry and feel special.
Another women commented on the post that she had received the same card awhile back and that it meant so much to her and she always wished she could tell the person just how much. What a gift!
Thank you Lord for the encouragement I received from those messages to keep going. Keep handing out those cards and keep praying for Divine appointments to make a difference in someone’s life. Thank you for letting me be part of Your work.
